3 things nobody tells you about successful niche marketing
There’s no doubt that the idea of niche marketing is the correct path to successful online marketing. Yet, the biggest problem for many people is doing it the right way. For instance, most people who want to begin with online marketing start by building a blog or website, throw together a few pages of content, find some affiliate products to promote, and hope they’ll make some money. All I can say is, have fun with that business model.

You don’t have to be a genius to notice all the new blogs and websites that are popping up online. Each day, more and more people are jumping at the opportunity to start a business online with dreams of making money. Have you noticed the popularity of WordPress? Everywhere you look, people are searching for ways to start a blog or website. And, to top it off, everything imaginable is being offered and promoted to hungry customers from around the world.
How will you distinguish yourself?
Now, don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. Just because there are thousands of new domains and sites being created daily, it doesn’t mean that they will be successful. Far from it. In any case, you still need to be unique in some way and you must have some idea as to who your target audience is. Or, more precisely, the niche you are going after and what you’ll offer or promote that thousands of other online marketers are not. What will distinguish you from the others?
If you can comfortably answer this, your chances of becoming successful online will improve greatly and you might even make money. But it’s going to take some effort and a little work.
Now, that’s where the internet comes in handy. It’s filled with countless resources to help you find all those little morsels of information. It also provides us with the opportunity to setup a blog or website to help get our message out to a targeted audience. Of course, none of this is going to happen without first doing a little research.
Put some effort into researching your niche
Research, research, research! Niche marketing isn’t science, but it is an art. Many successful online marketers or niche marketers owe much of their success to one key factor, and that is, they understood that they are in business to help people solve problems. And once you grasp that principle, you’ll immediately understand that your role is to simply research and find a group of individuals who share common problems. Your goal is not to find a large group, but one that is smaller and defined. Once you become established and help with solving certain problems, you can then venture out within that niche to even greater proportions.
The question is, how do I know what problems exist?
The answer is right in front of you, in fact, it’s everywhere.
Let’s take a minute and brainstorm some ideas. Also, take a moment and think about all the queries you might have noticed from reading the news, other blogs, social media, search engine results, etc. You’ve probably noticed these questions being asked, but never really thought that much about them. For example,
How to build a website, how to setup a membership site, how to fix a leaky faucet, how can I lower my cholesterol, what is the best way to barbeque ribs, how to start a blog, what is the best tent for camping, which dog breed is better, how to lose weight fast, which diet is best for diabetics, how to drive traffic to my website, how to market on Facebook, what backpack is better for hiking, how to setup a YouTube account, best back pain relief, how to remove dark spots on my face, how to create a video using PowerPoint, is a low-carbohydrate diet good for you, why is my cat not eating, why can’t I lose weight, and even how to make money online.
Are you starting to get the picture? Problems exist everywhere you look. It simply boils down to identifying them and providing a solution.
Of course, don’t be fooled by thinking that the entire process is simple and easy to do. If it were, every online marketer would be successful. There’s a lot more that actually goes into finding a niche, discovering problems that exist, and creating a solution. It takes a little effort to research any given niche market, but once you have that information, your time and effort could easily be a profitable and rewarding experience.
Try to remember this, niche marketing is an art and takes practice. You’re not going to be an expert overnight and things will not always be perfect for you, especially when starting out. That’s okay. The important thing is to start by researching your niche first.
